Our Manly salon works with Sustainable Salons, an organisation who aim to get people, the planet and profit working for each other.
Sustainable salons claims that in Australia & New Zealand alone 3,000,000 KG of salon waste ends up in landfill every year. As a result of 1,500 salons around the country signed up with Sustainable salons, the organisation has been able to divert 1,983,824kg of that salon waste from landfill.
So how does collaborating with Sustainable salons help the environment?
1. Hair waste contributes to cleaning up oil spills
2. Plastic bottles are recycled and made into wide tooth combs
3. Paper is recycled into new packaging
4. Used foil becomes NEW foil
5. Chemical leftovers are recycled into water and used in the construction industry
